- Synopsis
- extension without crops or labor. A barren land, with no trees or vegetation, barely
  inhabited by small communities of precarious cottages, junked cars, lost paths, wild
  animals and TV antennas.
  Over the last years the small towns have suffered the emigration of the younger
  generations, reducing the population to a half. The older ones stay and go blind.
  A strange disease, of previously unknown pathology is affecting the residents,
  making them gradually blind.
  The film starts at an old sun-dried brick cottage, built on one of the few elevations
  found on this huge plain, where the Bustos family lives in isolation.
  José Bustos is 55 years old. He has twelve goats, a failing eye and works placing
  electricity pylons on roadsides, cemeteries and common spaces. Meanwhile, his old
  mother takes care of the housework and his father, already blind, waits for the second
  coming of Jesus Christ.
