- Elza Soares, who died in 2022, is a multi-awarded Brazilian singer, nominated singer of the millennium, along with Tina Turner in 1999. Sharp-tongued, Elza evokes the creation of new possible worlds and uses her voice “to say what is silenced.” In the film, Elza's life story reflects the legend she was and what all her legacy represents to Black people across the world, as well as the rights of women, youth, and LGBTQIA+ people. With her body and her voice, Elza Soares carries the history of her people, she is the radiography of a country in ebullition.
