- Synopsis
- Psychological drama, thriller, road movie, social film, COLLECT CALL resolves around the misadventures of an upper middle-class woman from São Paulo, Clarinha, who takes a collect call and finds out that your daughter has been kidnapped. In reality it is a false kidnapping, a scam invented by prisoners in Rio de Janeiro in which they try to convince anyone answering the phone that they have kidnapped someone dear to them. Believing on the voice on the phone, she drives 600 km, from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, guided by the outlaw for the following 12 hours. During the route she is extorted until the limit of her credit card – as she finally could pay the call that will charge centuries of social debt in Brazil.
