    • Synopsis
    • “Arménio” is a family drama of a widower and father of two who progressively isolates himself in fear of the outside world.
Armenio lives a quiet life between going to the mini-market, coffee after lunch or the game of cards on Saturdays, always accompanied by the dog Sócrates. With the sudden death of his neighbour and best friend who cannot resist an heart attack, new neighbours arrive next door: a young couple with a child of eight. A black family. When he listens to them with his ear taped to the wall, he thinks they are Portuguese, perhaps from Lisbon, the way of talking is different, but they are black and listen to loud music, they take a bath naked in the yard and the little boy doesn’t leave the dog alone.
Life in the neighbourhood is different. His car window was broken last night and the week before that, was the neighbourhood café that had the door broken. Arménio leaves home less and less, there’s no more playing cards or coffee with friends after lunch. He installs a surveillance camera at the entrance of his house and starts watching the outside world through the computer screen.
Isolated, Arménio is determined not to be a victim anymore.
