    • Synopsis
    • Driving from one audition to the next, reading for bit parts or commercials, updating social media channels, getting headshots done and working survival jobs on the side: Being an actress in Los Angeles is a demanding job on many levels. But despite the hardships and desperation, there is an inspiring spirit to be found. We portray five women who have a strong sense of realism and aren’t just victims of their situation. Nicole Coulon played a small part in La La Land, but despite its success still has to pound the pavement. Chloe Farnworth was the Bafta New Face of the year in 2014 and her career has gained traction ever since. Amanda Markowitz’ strategy is to broaden her work field by writing and producing indie films. Charlie Taylor struggles with her famous Hollywood family background but gradually succeeds in finding her own place. And Gina Slattery has fought the battle all the way to the end. Now, living in a homeless shelter with her two-year-old son she starts to realise her journey is over. All five have to draw their happiness from the process, rather than from the end result. Diving into their everyday routine, we learn what it really means to “follow your dreams”, and we discover that happiness and success aren’t necessarily related.
