Description

Fidelio. Transcending borders, cultures, and minds. A multinational filmmaking collective formed in 2010, Fidelio focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to cinema. With the belief that no story is too big or too small if told with passion and dedication. Fidelio is Mark Raso (Canadian), Mauro Mueller (Swiss/Mexican), David Figueroa García (Mexican), Mauricio Leiva-Cock (Colombian) and Björn Hering (Swiss). The first four all met at Columbia University’s Film School’s Master Program. The company has set up offices in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Zurich and Bogota. Their films have played in film festivals around the world and winning various awards including two Student Academy Awards-Oscars® in 2012 with “Under” and 2013 with “A World for Raúl”, 3 CINE Golden Eagle Awards, a DGA Student Award, two IFP Audience Choice Awards, among many others. The first feature “Copenhagen” has won the Audience Award at Slamdance and the Grand Jury Award at Florida Film Festival. The features “In Times of Rain”, shot in Oaxaca, and “B”, a hybrid documentary about Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño are currently in post-production. “The night of the Beast”, a feature by Mauricio Leiva Cock is currently in pre-production. The next features on their slate are “A Few Days in the Sun”, which will be produced by Leslie Holleran (Chocolat, Hanna) and Doro Bachrach (Dirty Dancing) and the Tribeca Film Institute Latin America Media Arts winner “The Life and Death of Espíritu Perdomo” in co-production with French outfit La Fabrica Nocturna, and “The Reunion” by David Figueroa García. In addition, Tenebris, an original tv horror series is in development. Mark Raso just wrapped his second feature “Kodachrome” with Ed Harris, Jason Sudeikis and Elizabeth Olsen.
