    • Yumi means ‘water’ in the Awajún language. It narrates the struggle of this Indigenous People of the Peruvian Amazon to protect the headwaters of their rivers that are threatened by gold mining. The Peruvian government had promised to establish the National Park Ichigkat Muja - Cordillera del Cóndor in this area.
      The survival of the Awajún people depends on their territory, water and natural resources. However, the mining activities threaten the survival and violate their rights.
