    • Synopsis
    • On january, 1988, when I was 10 years old, my parents decided to go on vacation and leave me with my brothers Santiago and Andres who were 17 and 14 years old. That day they were supposed to pick me up in a party in the afternoon. Night fell dawn, found me waiting and watching at the window. They never arrived. After one year of uncertainty and anguish, we discovered that on that very same day my brothers were kidnapped, tortured, murdered and disappeared by the ecuadorian police for no reason at all.
Their bodies were thrown into Lake Yambo, but we never found them. More than 20 years after their disappearance, a new search is carried out in that lake and my personal rediscovery of the story I had only experienced partially.
In a poetic, contemplative voice over, the documentary deal with the process of filling the gaps, and recovering memory, not to let us die.
In Ecuador, this documentary reached 160.000 spectators in commercial cinemas and has been around many international film festivals, winning several prices.
