    • Synopsis
    • After the death of his father, Mauro, encounters a lifeless body on a road in the middle of the jungle. He tries to revive him with a chest compression, the person comes back to life for a few seconds, and then passes away again. In front of this particular coincidence he embarks on an intimate journey into uncharted territories, looking for a dialogue with death. Driven by curiosity and a deep desire for understanding, Mauro immerses himself in intimate stories of people that deal with extreme and indefinite spaces. A blind hermit in Italy guides grieving people in silent retreats, an astrophysicist in Chile surveys black holes, a neuropsychologist studies consciousness via near death experiences in Belgium, a music therapist in Spain accompanies terminal patients, two indigenous women from Panama search for their lost ancestral village buried under water when the Panama Canal was built, a French man who got out of a month long coma tells about it while sailing the pacific, a mother wants to send the dear objects of her dead son out to the stratosphere.
      "Wild Gleaming Space" is a visually stunning and emotionally profound documentary that challenges viewers to reflect on their own perceptions of the physical and symbolic frontiers of life and death, offering an opening into deeper understanding amidst the backdrop of loss and the ever-present mysteries of existence.
