    • Synopsis
    • When Winter Ends is the story of four teenagers who are doing an extra year of school during which they study professional preparation in the hopes of being accepted for an apprenticeship. Between classwork, application letters, phone calls to employers, internships and job interviews, each teen tries to find his way through difficulties and learn to overcome failure.
This is a film about their year, which is their last chance, about the end of carefreeness and their (sometimes quite early) start into professional life with its new rules to be learnt.
It is also an insight into the often difficult transition from being a pupil to being an apprentice, somewhere between the life of a teenager and the life of an adult. And finally it is an assessment of a certain type of young people of today, who have trouble setting goals for themselves, believing in their potential and who don’t think too much about what tomorrow might bring.
