    • Synopsis
    • In one weekend, the history of contemporary Latin America merges with the events that happen in a Rio de Janeiro rich family’ house.
“Weekend” are the Brazilians in the big screen. The film is a reflex and a portraid of the Latin America colonial history, its remnants today and the clash with the rapid social changes that the region and the country spent in the last 10 years, which now, explain a generational and classes’ conflicts.
The history begins in a Friday, during the preparation of Lucas’ birthday party. Lucas is the youngest son of Martha and Marcos, a couple that, to the social sphere, it is a perfect formation and, above all, seems happy. Who organizes the party is Cleide, the domestic house cleaner that work with the family for years, and is one of the main characters in the education of Lucas and Luisa, sons of Martha and Marcos. Cleide founds herself in a social space that seems to be undefined now; sometimes she believes to be part of the family and other just an employee. During this weekend, the apparent family happiness is put to the test, as Cleide’s social status in this universe, which has its structure shaken when Luisa falls in love with Rafaela, Cleide’s daughter.
