    • Concert pianist George Lepauw embarks on a defiant journey to learn about, and then record, J.S. Bach's timeless and challenging 5-hour keyboard masterpiece, the Well-Tempered Clavier. Lepauw retraces Bach's history in the composer's native Thuringia, in central Germany, traveling through the scenic towns of Eisenach, Arnstadt, Weimar and Leipzig. Lepauw also finds the prison cell where Bach was held in 1717, and where he conceived this masterwork. The film also shows the recording process, and the challenges associated with performing and appreciating the Well-Tempered Clavier despite its 300 years...
