- Synopsis
- Anna, a striking young twenty-something, has spent her entire life struggling with the maddening religious visions that haunt her. Now, having healed enough to leave an inner-city halfway house, she is taken in by her charismatic psychiatrist, Dr John Matani. Matani's luxurious retreat is part of a small, seemingly idyllic, town, situated on the edge of a lush forest. To Anna's surprise, she discovers that two young, free-spirited, local women - Sophie and Rose - underwent supernatural experiences almost identical to her own when they were children. However, unlike Anna, Sophie and Rose recall the visions as positive and empowering. Indeed, tales of their divine contact have elevated them to near Sainthood within the
  community. Anna is drawn to her two vibrant and beautiful new companions, Sophie in particular. And this relationship soon grows to one of romantic and sexual love, the first true erotic connection of Anna's life. But beneath the surface of this arcadian setting, dark secrets fester. And the darkest of all might not even be the ritualistic serial killer who is murdering young women deep in the heart of the forest. It might be a secret held by the community's most upstanding members: their fanatical commitment to an ancient and esoteric plan. A plan, that, if realized, will transform Anna, and the world, forever.
