Violenta is an elevated genre feature film about a trans vampire vigilante who haunts an ancient colonial city. As she struggles to reconcile with her biological mother and find closure from a past rooted in domestic violence, she feeds on those who exploit women, the poor, and the marginalized.

    • Synopsis
    • To escape his abusive father, Dolores sends her son, Rafi, to a boarding school, with tragic results. His life is threatened by bullies. Rafi runs away from the school, and is soon lost in the city’s red-light district. When a mysterious woman startles the boy, he bites her in the arm. The woman then hunts Rafi down, and she sinks her fangs into the child’s neck with supernatural strength. The boy transforms into a female vampire. Violenta is born.

By turns furious, and by others endearing, our film follows Violenta, a ferocious vampire predator, as she struggles with the victimized child still inside her. With some help from Sandy, a level-headed trans woman who has become Violenta’s life companion, Violenta begins to see the difference between justice and vengeance.

Now a vampire vigilante, Violenta targets abusive men in the shadows of her old, colonial hometown, and after watching her mother from afar for years, she eventually decides to re-enter her mother’s life in search of answers.

A homeless surrogate child named Truman, a handsome, mafioso love interest named Armando, Violenta’s still abusive father, Pedro, and a clumsily dangerous, emancipated Dolores lead our film to an unexpected conclusion, with Violenta forced to choose between avenging and saving her family - or losing her existence.
