    • Synopsis
    • Ecuador, 1999. Raul Castillo (55), an orchid grower, experiences a rare UFO encounter in the tropical mountains of Buenaventura, his mining town. A luminous being warns him of a cancer pandemic due to mining pollution. Confused, Raul doubts his sanity, but after filming the ships he is convinced and divulges the message to the controversial ufologist Rosa Deloi (40), on her TV program “Infinity” and his life changes completely.

      Exiled in the mountains, far from mockery and judgment, Raul deepens his contact with these beings, who speak of God far from religion and that preserving nature is vital. He falls in love with Enrico di Maggio (55), an enigmatic Italian botanist who writes about orchids, creating a magical relationship together. Rosa and some new-age ufologists spend time with them, going on astral journeys together.

      But their bliss is destroyed when the corporation PROGOLD tries to buy Raul’s land to turn it into a mine. Raul refuses and faces harassment and homophobia initiated by PROGOLD. Raul denounces them on TV, unleashing their rage, so they destroy everything Raul loves, even killing Enrico.

      Raul is devastated, cuts the spiritual connection with the alien beings and tries to end his life, but Rosa takes him to the sea to welcome the new millennium. Together, they live a transcendental and ethereal encounter and Raul mysteriously disappears. Twenty years later, Rosa premieres a documentary about the legend that Raul was taken by UFOs.
