Wlodzimierz NIDERHAUS (WFDiF - Documentary and Feature Film Studio)
The old, post-German house is located in a small town in the Recovered Territories. In it meet the Mother, the Widow, the Son and…the ghost of a German girl who, along with her family, lived in the house and died in it at the end of the war. Their meeting is a tale comprising of individual fates, letters, testimony. The mother and widowed daughter-in-law are visited by the Son who refuses to serve in the Army. His older brother – a professional soldier, member of the Polish military mission in Afghanistan – disappeared a few years ago under unexplained circumstances. Despite the tragedy, the family celebrates his birthday every year. This is no ordinary birthday celebration, however, it is rather a ritual meant to commune with the spirit of the deceased whose death remains unexplained. For a time.
