    • Synopsis
    • Timoteo’s Fabulous Ragged Circus is an observational documentary about a circus of homosexuals that has been touring around Chile for the last 40 years, pitching up in towns and cities with its scandalous drag show. The creator is the 70-year-old gay comedian Timoteo, who now runs the oldest and only circus of its kind in Chile and Latin America. The documentary looks into the life of the comedian, as the artists and other members of the company endeavour to support him at a difficult time. Combined with his advancing age, the death of Timoteo’s best friend and founding partner of the show has put the future of the circus into doubt. This jeopardises the private world Timoteo has created both for himself and for the members of his troop. They worry about René’s state of health and are concerned that the circus and the family they’ve known for years is about to end. Their lives are taken up with small events and day-to-day conflicts while they debate between the refusal of a possible end and the real need to plan for a future outside the circus.
