    • Synopsis
    • Till Human Voices Wake Us is the stunning debut film from highly successful Australian screenwriter Michael Petroni,
Fifteen year old Sam Franks, who has just returned from boarding school, and local girl, Silvy, strike up an intense friendship. They are kindred spirits in this sleepy Victorian country town until one night they set out for a swim and the unthinkable occurs.
Fast forward 20 years and Sam (Guy Pearce), now a teacher of psychology at Melbourne University, has returned to the same town, to escort his father’s body back to a place that has haunted him since that night. Caught in a massive downpour he rescues a mysterious woman, Ruby (Helena Bonhan Carter), from the deluge of the river.
At first she is disorientated but as they wander through the town, her fragmented memory returns and the past manifests itself into the present. Till Human Voices Wakes Us will take you on an ethereal and provocative journey to a place with its own distinct sense of time and place.
