    • Synopsis
    • “Through Thick and Thin” tells the story of Mariana and Davi, engaged to be shortly married, their whole life planned out, comme il faut.
Things start getting out of hand when Mariana is swooped off to a bachelorette party in Mexico, where she meets Juan Marcelo, with whom she has a one-night fling. What neither of them could imagine is that Marcelo is Davi’s buddy and is already booked on a flight to Brazil to attend the couple’s wedding.
When Marcelo and Mariana meet again, Mariana isn’t all that sure she wants to get married. Davi finds out about her infidelity and calls the wedding off. Marcelo wants Mariana to leave with him for a life of adventure, but she realizes that something like that would be meaningless if she were far from the love of her life, Davi. Could a story of dashed dreams such as this have a happy ending?
“Through Thick and Thin” is a romantic comedy with an intelligent critique of strait-laced conservatism in general. Coupled with the careful and sensitive construction of its characters, the film is imbued with a contemporary tone of humor, without stale sentimentality, revealing the possibility of a happy ending for those who are not limited to doing the obvious.
