    • Synopsis
    • THIS LOVE THAT CONSUMES is a hybrid film that mixes both fiction and documentary language. The cast is made up of members of the Company Rubens Barbot, the oldest Afro-Brazilian contemporary dance group. Its protagonists are the Argentine director, Gatto Larsen, and the Brazilian choreographer Rubens Barbot, who portray themselves, working in their real-life locations.
The film begins at the crucial moment when they move into an abandoned building and start living and practicing there, attached to their belief in the Orishas Gods to keep themselves in the place, which is for sale. Thanks to their ingenuity, which bypasses the constant lack of resources, they can pursue their art. The struggle of everyday life, dance, religion, companionship, racial and urban issues are addressed in this film.
