    • In a time when madmen ruled through terror and violence, one woman stood up and spat in the face of injustice.
Runaway, journalist, and socialite: a young Nancy Wake escaped her strict Sydney household for a vibrant life in Paris. On the eve of the Second World War she married Henri Fiocca, a wealthy Frenchman, and realised the picture-perfect, fanciful life she had envisioned as a child. In this wonderland, however, Wake witnessed the most inhumane atrocities known to history.
France had fallen and Nancy’s ideal life could not continue. Determined to defy the Nazis, she joined the Resistance. Beginning as a courier delivering supplies to resistance fighters Nancy trained with the British SOE before parachuting back into France, where she would pioneer the Maquis.
Driven by the torture and death of her beloved husband at the hands of the Gestapo, Wake would prove to be a cunning resistor, hounded at every turn, with a bounty of five million francs on her head. Evading their every effort to ensnare her, she earned the title: The WhiteMouse.
Only when the war was over and France rid of the Germans, would The White Mouse truly have her revenge.
