    • Synopsis
    • A documentary film “in verse and prose” born from director Georgia Guerra-Peixe’s rediscovery
of her own history. It is from that personal rediscovery that she leaves the samba’s court to
climb the Mangueira’s hill in Rio de Ja neiro, for the first time.
It is a feature film lead by the very particular look of the director and her narration. “The
samba that lives within me” speaks the language of emotion, and exposes an unusual sense
of intimacy with the place. Her poetic framing and her perception of every minute detail make
up the very soul of this “community”.
