- Synopsis
- Produced by internationally renown actor/director Michele Placido, directed by first time director, Toni Trupia, and reminiscent of De Sica's UMBERTO D., this feature film tells the story of Giovanni, a quiet seventy-year-old widower who is suddenly hurled back into the rapids of life when a desperate young Russian girl, Irina walks through his door. She is hurt and hungry and Giovanni valiantly nurses her back to health. Their relationship quickly evolves, bringing him much joy and a new lease on life. Against the suspicions of his jealous daughter and his apprehensive best friend, Giovanni suddenly finds himself married to Irina. From that moment on, his life turns upside down, a victim of a a cruel turn of events. However, one day he realizes that he no longer needs to live in fear, but decides to take life into his own hands and act.
