    • An adaptation of Aharon Appelfeld’s novel “Night after Night. The sixties, in a boarding house in Jerusalem, holocaust survivors reside. At night they drink cognac and play cards. During the day they try to revive something of their pre-war lives, mainly the Yiddish language. The place is run by Ms. Pracht. who hates Yiddish and everything she considers ghetto-like and archaic. Her strict character and her insistence on order and discipline enrage the residents. In this atmosphere, Manfred, one of them, decides to do something extreme, that leads to the inevitable end.
