    • Synopsis
    • Antonio and Estela lived together in many different cities around the world. However he never felt home wherever he went. He always carried that trace of the foreigner, a displacement that every time would make him question himself if that was really his place. He lived in a kind of a suspended calm where, despite everything, he had Estela, who would give meaning to all the things, who would smile wide inadvertently face of any torment and make ridiculous any tragedy. Estela was his nation.

It happens that Estela dies. And Antonio, with approximately 70 years old, lives now in Rio de Janeiro.

He comes home now, 10 days after his wife's death. It would be her birthday. He receives his grandchildren, who spend the afternoon with him, and them would take him to his daughter Fernanda's place. She had prepared a party to celebrate her mother's birthday.

However Antonio tells his grandchildren to go by car without him, explaining he would like to go walking, to have his time alone. But he never gets to the party.

He departs in a kind of collapse; he dives into a train trip, randomly, to the interior of Minas Gerais.

It's not, however, a return trip, or a search for a past. The Antonio who travels back to the native place is no longer the same Antonio who was born there. He is another individual who opens himself to new confrontations, who parts alone, seeking to his own new figure, his identity. Antonio takes all the risks, his life restarts there.
