    • Synopsis
    • A coming-of-age story set against the faded glory of early 1980's era Pittsburgh. Art Bechstein, floundering in his new-found post-college freedom, opts to take a dead-end job at The Book Barn, while sleep-walking through the Wall Street prep class that will speed him into a job chosen for him by his gangster father and take him far away from Pittsburgh. Art’s fortunes begin to change when a chance encounter with freshman roommate and part-time drug dealer Mohammed lands him at a drunken summer party where he falls for the beautiful Jane Bellwether. The two quickly connect over a secret and a late-night plate of pie, but Jane’s on-again off-again boyfriend Cleveland has other plans for the pair. Taking Art hostage from the dreary Book Barn, Cleveland whisks Art away to an abandoned steel mill, a hide-out that Cleveland romantically calls “The Cloud Factory.” It's there, suspended high above Pittsburgh, that Art realizes that this will be the last true summer of his life.
