    • Synopsis
    • A film about poverty, dreams, and the power of will, The Flicker tells the story of Horacio, a 45 year-old Uruguayan soldier, who works as a lighthouse keeper on the Island of Sea Lions in the South Atlantic. Horacio is poor and will soon retire. Meanwhile he sits amongst 250 thousand sea wolves, he dreams of building a sewing machine repair shop in his backyard and giving a future to his daughter. To save up sufficient money to accomplish his dream, Horacio has to return to the land of his ancestors, the DR of Congo, as member of Uruguay's peace keeping force. The journey, which begins as a means of economic progress, soon becomes a journey to his own past, to the roots of his family’s poverty and their commitment to serve.
