    • Synopsis
    • The Fast Life starts in Cal State Fullerton as Lucky Wilson is starring in the lead role as Malcolm X in Don't Wake The Dreamer on opening night. Lucky is a bi-racial African American and Filipino sophomore majoring in drama and business. After giving a great performance, Lucky and his Italian girlfriend Lizzi are at a big frat party. Lucky sees a muscular and rowdy football player named Red being thrown out for trying to entice girls into prostitution. Red is a street-wise but educated thug. Red tries to bond with Lucky because he instantly recognizes Lucky’s rising popularity on campus and great organizational skills at promoting parties.

Before Lucky met Red, he had never thought about pursuing a life of crime. In fact, Lucky was seriously considering joining the police force with J.J. his lifelong best friend. J.J. is a rookie cop with the Long Beach Police. But it takes the sudden brutal murder of J.J. during a routine traffic stop and then the sudden death of his beloved mother to send Lucky into a tail spin of depression and confusion. Lucky now became easily swayed by Red to become a professional criminal.

Even the love and support of his faithful and pregnant girlfriend is not enough to convince him to keep pursuing his dream of being a great actor or even stay on track for a career in law enforcement. Lucky manages for a long time to enjoy all the riches and spoils of his illegal lifestyle, but years later his whole “hustler” world starts crumbling away brick by brick by hard-nosed detective John Davenport. Lucky knows there are few choices that stand between him losing the woman and child he dearly loves or the freedom he desperately craves. Such is the fate of many like Lucky that want everything for nothing and then have to pay the ultimate price of choosing...“The Fast Life”.
