    • Synopsis
    • America Scarfó starred one of the most passionate and controversial love stories in Argentinean history. At the age of fourteen she met 27 year old Severino Di Giovanni
and they both fell in love.

Severino was one of the leading anarchist figures in Argentina, a political movement
that had a bearing on the country’s political life and due to his struggle, Di Giovani became one of the most wanted and feared men across the country.

The romantic relationship developed; clandestine meetings, fleeting visits, love letters and a self-sufficient, sound, horizontal and libertarian based economic project took place until it’s interruption due to Di Giovani’s arrest and shooting, at the hands of the first military dictatorship in 1930. By then, Paulino Scarfó, her brother and a member of an expropriating anarchist gang, was also tortured and murdered. Thus, a part of America died with them.

The documentary rescues, based on original audios of America describing her own story, love letters, photographs and interviews, the life and vision of a pioneer and revolutionary woman who after suffering tragic losses decided to take refuge in anonymity, but, nevertheless, remained true to her ideals.
