    • Synopsis
    • Daniel Mantovani is an Argentinean writer who has lived in Europe for over three decades. He is renowned worldwide for winning the Nobel Prize in Literature. His novels are characterized by portraying with mastery and heartless crudeness life in Salas, the small town in Argentina where he was born and to which he has not returned since he was a young man aspiring to become a writer. Among the numerous correspondences he receives on a daily basis, he gets a letter from the Municipality of Salas inviting him to receive the greatest recognition from the town: the Distinguished Citizen Award. Surprisingly, and despite his important obligations and engagements, Daniel decides to accept the proposal and return to Salas incognito.
This trip will have multiple facets for Daniel: it will be his triumphal return to the town he was born in, a trip to the past in which he will meet old friends, loves and landscapes from his youth again, and mainly a trip to the core of his literature, to the source of his creations and his inspiration.
Once there, the writer will confirm the affinities that still link him to Salas, as well as the insuperable differences that will soon turn him into a strange and disturbing element for the life in the town. Daniel's attitude, together with the particular idiosyncrasies and intolerance of local people, causes many controversies and even endanger his life. .
In the end, one last turn of events will bring about an unexpected outcome, which will modify the perception of the entire story.
