    • Synopsis
    • TAGLINE: It’s every man, woman and back-stabbing bastard for themselves.

      PLOT OUTLINE:
STM Asia Pacific Constructions is pinning its future to its biggest ever project: 'Eastern Metropol Train Station'. The worst storm in 100 years wreaks havoc on the city and its new landmark, causing $60 000 in damages and clean-up costs per week. Friendships fracture. Fingers point. Accusations fly. Alliances shift. Spin and counter-spin. It’s every man, woman and back-stabbing bastard for themselves.

      PLOT SUMMARY:
The Contract follows the unfolding events, political fallout and corporate spin immediately after ‘the storm of the century’ inflicts untold damage upon the recently completed Eastern Metropol Station. At face value, it’s a strong, character driven ensemble story about captains of industry, movers and shakers existing within the same vernacular as similar dramatic television content.

THEMES: Primary - survival - what human dynamics come into play when people act to save their own skin. STM Asia Pacific is ‘theTitanic', the Boardroom is the ‘lifeboat', the ‘storm of the century’ is the iceberg... what happens next? infrastructure development, politics, public transport, government policy, worksafe, worker safety, community

SMELLS LIKE: MDA meets The West Wing meets Bastard Boys meets Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo meets The Games meets Lifeboat meets Titanic.

WHOSE EYEBALLS: A mature TV serial for grown-ups drawn to engaging and strong storytelling based in realistic, no nonsense
characters alive with smart, savvy, street-smart dialogue. Laced with a lotta ballsy, laid-back attitude.

SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT: presented to industry and public at A Fistful of Scripts [season 2] APR 2011
