    • Synopsis
    • Jacques Roudillou, a specialist mechanic, is hired by a soon-to-close
foundry to repair and then disassemble an injection-moulding
machine in preparation for its dispatch to another site. It’s a few
days work that coincide with the final days at the plant, which has
been progressively downsized over preceding years.
Jacques, single and 30, realises his work is part of the factory staff’s
death warrant. He’ll drink with them but refuses to become emotio-
nally involved with the anguish attending their retrenchment and the
closure of a factory where blokey camaraderie have been a way of life...Donand, the factory supervisor, is resigned to redundancy. He’s
a man segregated from the factory hands - us and them - and he’s
also on the outs because he’s probably gay. But indifference is one
of the mechanic’s tools of trade and he knows impulse and desire
      aren’t necessarily the same thing...
