    • Synopsis
    • Paul One arrives at a church.
He enters and goes to confess.
The reverend, Peter, listens to him.
Paul confesses he has killed a person. We don't know he is a judge yet.
Paul asks a confirmation to the reverend if he has to denounce him, because, under his duty, he has to keep silence. A confession has to be kept confidential. Paul recalls him he has to keep silent.
The duel is between them, each of them about their own conviction and their morality (religion vs state justice, reproaching the fault on the other side), and inside them, by the moral conflict for the reverend (man vs religious), and for the judge needing to say it to someone to lighten his conscience. Now, the burden is on the reverend's shoulders.

Magadalena, the reverend's wife doesn't like this new situation, giving trouble in « her » church and disturbing the faith of his husband.
She decides to kill the judge, as the Bible punishment « an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth ».

We learn in fact, that Paul did not kill a person, but he thinks he has perhaps sentenced to death an innocent when he was attorney.
We learn in fact, that the judge invented in part this story to create this situation, and so, to see and to prove that the reverend is wrong to seal his mouth when facing criminal acts, acts even condemned by its own religion rules, and he wants to prove that religion (and its rules) has to help human justice against evil's acts.

Mole is in background of the story, wearing all the times gloves. We'll discover that he cuts the finger of the dead he has to bury. Only one finger. The same finger missing in one of his hands. He is not really a « collector », he has done his own prosthesis, putting one of his collection inside his glove to show as he is « normal ».

Einsenhower is coming, and leaving. Letting behind him a bigger conflict because we'll discover that he was dressed up as the reverend and took the judge's confession, a part of it. He has not to seal his mouth, but he has to kill, perhaps, the judge because he is going to do a fake case to sentence him in order to send him to mental home to close his mouth officially.
