    • Synopsis
    • Jackson is a passionate filmmaker who, along with his best friend Jonlenon, uses creativity and determination to make movies with minimal resources. Their latest film, Exodus, explores Honduras's migrant caravans and political chaos. The story begins with Jackson staging a scene during a caravan's clash with police, leading to his arrest. Using a smuggled phone, he films another scene in the holding cell, leveraging detainees for added realism.
In 2018 Tegucigalpa, Jackson and Jonlenon struggle to find an audience for their film. When the gang leader Junior Black—whose song they used—summons them, they expect trouble but instead get an unexpected offer. The gang agrees to distribute the film in exchange for a music video. Jackson agrees, while Jonlenon refuses. The gang's tactics make Exodus a sensation, but Jackson's artistic obsession pulls him deeper into their world.
His commitment leads him to document gang activities, from initiation rituals to extortion and trafficking, alienating friends and costing him his NGO job. The stakes escalate when Junior Black demands the filming of a brutal act targeting Jackson’s friend, Bekam. As the neighborhood rises in rebellion, the gang prevails but overthrows Junior Black. Jackson flees Honduras in a migrant caravan, arriving at the same border crossing where his journey began—this time, as the subject of reporters’ cameras.
