July 4th 2008. The two-year anniversary of a nuclear attack on Texas soil. Los Angeles. Terror alert level: Red. US-Ident, a corporate think-tank, is on full-time surveillance watch and U.S. soldiers are staked out across the coastline guarding a revolutionary alternative fuel project near the Santa Monica pier. Cyndi Pinziki (Nora Dunn), part of an underground Neo-Marxist movement, is intent on restricting the powers of US-Ident. She makes plans to blackmail renowned Senator Bobby Frost (Holmes Osbourne) into helping her cause. The Senator's daughter (Mandy Moore) is married to the biggest action star in Hollywood, Boxer Santaros (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson), who is suffering from amnesia, and they've caught him on camera cheating on his wife with former adult-film star Krysta Now (Sarah Michelle Gellar). If these photographs get out, they could damage the straight-laced Senator's run for the Vice Presidency and destroy US-Ident. Meanwhile, double-crossing Neo-Marxist, female body builder Zora Carmichaels (Cheri Oteri) and dirty cop, Officer Bart Bookman (Jon Lovitz), have plans of their own for Senator Frost: another elaborate blackmail plot, this one involving twin brothers, Ronald and Roland Tavernier (Seann William Scott). A glitch in the unfolding events has a deadly domino effect that pushes the city to the brink of chaos. Boxer has been framed for murder, a shady ice cream truck driver, Walter Mung (Christopher Lambert), is seeking vengeance for the killing of his daughter, and it seems Baron Von Westaphalen (Wallace Shawn) - the man behind fluid-karma, a clean alternative fuel source and the founder and CEO of Treer Corporation - is behind it all. Chaos transforms into inevitable doom at a celebration high above downtown Los Angeles in a futuristic Megazeppelin where Boxer uncovers the mystery behind the Baron's experiments. On the streets below, a riot orchestrated by the Neo-Marxists could lead to the undoing of all existence.
