    • Synopsis
    • Frig is in his mid-30s and should know better. He’s on the run from his pregnant girlfriend, and from anything that smells like responsibility, but a dying friend stops him in his tracks with a deathbed request that he can’t refuse: to look after his younger brother, Des. Des is 26, permanently hungry, has the emotional needs of a five-year-old and a habit of throwing stones at birds.
After living hand to mouth for a few months and getting on each others’ nerves, they steal a smart-phone and get an email from a terminally ill Nigerian who needs to offload his fortune on someone he can trust.
Soon after they hit the road for Africa. Frig dreams of losing Des somewhere between Dover and Addis Abbaba. Des dreams of the Africa he’s seen in children’s books and of meeting a real live elephant.
They only get as far as the Isle of Wight, a small island just a stone’s throw from the English coast, but along the way, after a few wrong turns and an act of bad faith, Des makes friends with a seagull and Frig discovers a parenting instinct he never knew he had.
