    • Synopsis
    • Mona, a transgender sex worker with a love for cooking and a dream of opening her own patisserie, is brutally beaten and left for dead. When she learns that Jason, an aspiring MMA fighter, is responsible for saving her life, she tracks him down to thank him. Soon after they start to date.

However their relationship is at odds with the goals of Jason’s transphobic coach, Bill, and Mona’s possessive ex-pimp, Eddie. Bill wants Jason to date a cisgender woman for the sake of Jason’s career and Eddie wants Mona to go back to working for him.

Despite having been knocked out by Jason in their first encounter when Eddie revealed Mona is a sex worker, Eddie continues to follow and pursue Mona. He decides to embarrass Jason further and hopefully cause him to break up with Mona by revealing her profession and sexual escapades to Jason’s colleagues at the gym.

As time passes, Mona gets a regular job but struggles with doing mundane work hours and living on a reduced income. Jason starts to feel the peer-pressure from Bill and his training partners about being with Mona, and becomes embarrassed about his relationship with her. His reduced affection towards her causes Mona to start flirting and sexting with an old client, Luke.

On the night of Jason’s first paid fight, he breaks up with Mona. On the same night, Lexi is killed by Luke’s wife who mistakes Mona for Lexi. Devastated by the simultaneous loss of her friend and being dumped because of who she is, Mona goes back to working for Eddie.

Despite winning his first fight, Jason feels unfulfilled and realizes he made a mistake breaking up with Mona. In addition to wanting to be with her, Jason is also fearful for her well-being after learning Eddie has assaulted Mona’s cooking instructor, Anton, for encouraging her to leave for New York to attend a prestigious cooking school.

When Jason tries to win Mona back he ends up in hospital after getting into a fight with Eddie that results in the pimp’s death. Realizing Jason is not the right man for her, Mona decides to focus on making her dream a reality and go to New York.
