    • Synopsis
    • In 1903, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a Sherlock Holmes short story The Adventure of the Empty House. In the story, the famous consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes, reveals that he faked his own death at the Reichenbach Falls when fighting his nemesis Professor Moriarty. Sherlock Holmes travels to Scandinavia incognito and creates a false identity for himself, an explorer named Sigerson.

Based on the unforgettable characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock North is a 10 x 60 minutes contemporary Nordic crime television series with some comedic elements.

Sherlock North is a fish-out-of-water story. British, upper class Sherlock Holmes could not be further from his comfort zone than in the dark and cold Lapland. The culture clash between the fast-talking, eccentric, Sherlock Holmes and Lapland-born, down-to-earth, Nordic characters creates conflict and even humor.

A small-town doctor, Ms. Johanna Watson from Finland, aids Sherlock to function in the subzero Lapland. She starts as a translator but ends up being an equal partner in solving the crimes that are leading Sherlock and Watson towards the criminals wanting to dominate the Artic Sea Bridge.

The Arctic Sea Bridge is a new trade route caused by global warming, between Russia and Canada, connecting Europe and North America, enabling illegal drugs and arms trade, and making human trafficking easier than ever before.

The television series, produced by Helsinki and Los Angeles -based Snapper Films, is being developed in collaboration with the Conan Doyle Estate Licensing. TV series languages are English and Finnish, some Swedish, Norwegian, and Russian.
