    • Synopsis
    • Jillian Jones is unique, Jillian Jones is a creative spirit, Jillian Jones is crumbling. After a major loss leaves her with PTSD she loses the last of her control, abusing drugs and straining relationships with her mother and friends. At the end of her spiral she finds, not rock bottom, but Karl Marx. As she throws herself into learning German, lessons from the famed author of the Communist Manifesto guide Jillian through warped imaginings and provide a lifeline through what may be her darkest hours. The accomplished final product of 2015 - 2016 Emerging Voices filmmaker Kenna J. Moore, She Was Famous is an unflinching portrait of mental illness treatment’s efficacy when done well and when it goes horribly wrong. -Amber Love (New Orleans Film Society)
