- Synopsis
- The year is 2035. We open on a middle aged man lying unconscious in a garden, holding a bottle of vodka and a fistful of white pharmaceutical pills.
  
  Meet Simon A. Hopes, pour 20th Century man, now almost completely withdrawn from social contact. Following the death of his beloved wife, Claudia, Simon (an investigative journalist turned private investigator) dropped out of "life" and retreated to a quiet existence outside of the bustling city he once called home.
  
  But now, he gets a call from venture capitalist, Bill Sanderson, who offers him the assignment of finding his estranged girlfriend, Kathy Beaumaris.
  
  BILL: "I want you to deliver a message. Send her my love"
  SIMON: "That's all?"
  BILL: "Yes. Tell her Bill sends his love."
  SIMON: "Sounds like a threat"
  BILL: "Depends how you say it"
  SIMON: "Depends how you mean it."
  BILL: "I love her. And I mean it."
  
  When Simon eventually finds Kathy, he's overwhelmed by intense feelings of love for her:feelings he presumed had been numbed forever by the death of Claudia.
  
  He immediately drops his allegiance to Sanderson and begins an intense and all-consuming relationship with Kathy, unaware of the the nefarious forces - both human and technological - that are affecting his reason and emotions.
