    • Synopsis
    • The story follows the internal conflict of Seibior Apres, a man on his forties, who has been working as a lifeguard on an indoor pool in a remote Latin American town for more than 25 years, even though his only true dream since childhood is to travel to see the immensity of the ocean. His obsession for saving lives and his commitment with his job has made him become a lifeguard not only inside the pool but rather outside of it, earning the respect and admiration of the villagers, confining his existence to the pool building, where he feels the king, lord and master. Aterio, an impulsive and irreverent youngster constantly challenges Seibior, questioning him for not being brave enough to leave his achievements behind and chase his true dream, thus creating a deep conflict between his true free spirit and the stability offered by his pseudo kingdom. A relentless drought and the arrival of a new authority to the town along with a mysterious music, begins to endanger the solidity of his niche while compromising his ability to continue saving lives, to the point where ironically he has to take the life of another human being in order to save him, to finally run away with Aterio to fulfil his dream to see the ocean, where he ultimately drowns and is reborn.
