    • Synopsis
    • Road Kill is a taut, tense road movie that uncovers the dark underworld of American gang culture. Set against the panoramic expanse of the American West, the story follows three young Vietnamese-American gangbangers on a trail of violence and a quest for identity, from San Jose, California to Corpus Christi, Texas. The film begins in California where Lohng, the gang’s 27-year-old, intense, brooding leader, realizes the drugstore he was about to rob is already the scene of a crime. To avoid being caught, he decides to flee with his cohorts Nu, a volatile 22-year old Vietnamese-African, and Mike, a 17-year-old Vietnamese-American. They travel to Texas, with the hope of finding Lohng’s lost brother and start fresh. Along the way, they commit violent crimes, engage in sleazy sex, gorge on junk food, and watch tasteless American TV. Lohng leads the gang but feels increasingly disconnected, until his sense of alienation grows so strong that he is forced to reinvent himself.
