- Synopsis
- Resurrection is a fantastic genre film within the one called gothic terror. The film is set during the yellow fever plague which stroke Buenos Aires in 1871, and it deals with the man’s fear when facing death. The main character is a priest, who has an impulse towards a missionary feeling, going to Buenos Aires to assist the victims of this horrid epidemic. But, a few miles before reaching Buenos Aires, he steps by his brother’s land and there he finds his family infected and the house abandoned. A series of unexpected events corner him in this place and make him doubt about his main mission, his ethical beliefs and, finally, his faith. “Resurrection” develops the existentialist conflict which comes from the man’s torment when facing death, chaos and the cruel and shaking suffering from the plague.
