Big city cop meets small town big cop in Polis Evo - An action-comedy buddy-cop film that combines two contrasting personalities from completely different backgrounds on a mission to take down Malaysia's biggest drug lord.
Khai, a depressive loner with no family except a mother who does not recognize him, is also Kuala Lumpur's finest narcotics inspector. Known as the Jackie Chan of Kuala Lumpur, Khai does all the talking with his actions and never needs an invitation to get right into the thick of it. When Adli Aizuddin, an old chemistry teacher, is found dead in Terengganu with bags of the same red meth that Khai has been tracking, Khai is sent to the small town to investigate and solve the case. There, he is partnered with Sani, a happy-go-lucky family man proud and satisfied with his life in Terengganu, is in fact the big-fish-inspector in a relatively small pond. Great behind the wheel and even better with his words, Sani prides himself as a champion at solving cases diplomatically - the less action needed the better! But when the man with a routine suited to staying safe and providing for his family is partnered with the gang-busting, guns-blazing unpredictable Jackie Chan of KL, he knows that things may get pretty rough.
The reluctant and mismatched pair is made to work together to solve the mystery of the drugs. But the duo soon discovers that this is no ordinary drug case. The closer they get to the culprit, the more they realize that their loved ones as well as their own lives are becoming increasingly at stake.
After a tragic turn of events, their mission becomes increasingly personal. Sani and Khai must learn to work together and to trust each other as they venture into war with a cold-blooded syndicate that would do anything to keep their drug business alive.
