- Synopsis
- Joël, a charismatic and humorous Canadian soldier, is head coach for the Phoenix, his teenage son Jacob’s soccer team. As the underdog team improves, the relationship between father and son deteriorates. Joël’s military philosophy of self sacrifice and team spirit is at odds with Jacob’s blooming individualism and independence. It is outside the field that the two will make peace, aided by the love of wife and mother Michelle and the mutual support brought by their community of military families. Against all odds, the team reaches the finals, while Joël leaves for a war from which he will never fully recover.
