    • Synopsis
    • After the great departure of the Prince, Siddhartha travels towards the forest of penance together with one-eye Dhepa and Assaji who has an ability to foresee things. With the help of Tatta, Siddhartha does not only spare the life of once-beloved Migaila, who is just about to die by diseases, but they also relieve their own hearts fulfilled by grief and anger. A boy, Assaji sacrifices himself by giving his own life to starving wolf’s family. Seeing this heroic death of Assaji, Siddhartha is so determined to carry out desperate ascetic practice that he starts to realise a connection between souls and a natural dispensation; however, Dhepa informs Siddhartha that the kingdom Shakya is exterminated by the kingdom of Kosala led by Prince Paracenajit, and as a result, whereabouts of Siddhartha’s family becomes unknown. A broken-hearted giant, Yatala casts questions to distressed Siddhartha: “Why do humans suffer?” “Why do humans live?”
