    • Synopsis
    • "Habitante Irreal" is a fiction feature film project based in Paulo Scott's novel of the same name. The main character, Maína, is a Native Brazilian teenager who refuses to accept the invisibility of her indigenous heritage. She becomes intimate with the young lawyer Paulo and thus gives birth to a child, Donato. Maína decides to give her baby up for adoption in order to protect him from the vulnerability of his heritage. Donato goes on to be adopted by a good family who ensure him a good education and seats in top schools. However, his life is turned upside down when he eventually gets in touch with his origins and his culture.
      As the characters start to experience culture shock, the clash of their lives and the feeling of not belonging, they begin to see new life paths ahead of them, welcoming change.
