    • Synopsis
    • Elite soldiers push themselves to the very limits of physical and mental endurance. Five years ago, Martin Stalker came back from combat in Afghanistan only to wage another battle against Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; a battle he won with the help of a radical new therapy.

Sixty years earlier two men left the Special Air Service at the end of the Second World War and returned to civilian life, to cope with similar issues. One was Newtownards man Blair “Paddy” Mayne, co-founder of the SAS. The other was Billy Stalker – Martin’s grandfather. Also suffering from PTSD, that generation had no support and no treatment. They had to sort themselves out, or go under.

How did these two elite soldiers from a previous war cope with their own demons? Without support or assistance, and only the understanding of a few old comrades, how did they manage to survive the return to peace? And how might they have benefited from the cutting edge treatments made available to Marty?
