- Synopsis
- MORE THAN A LIFE is conceived as a 6-part family saga. It tells the story of four generations of women who struggle with a severe trauma that was initially triggered a long time ago, in 1943. It has to do with Charly’s great-grandmother Sophie, who was forced to prostitute herself in a concentration camp brothel during World War II. Having never had the chance to confide in anyone about the trauma she went through as a young woman, let alone come to grips with the nightmare, she has epigenetically transmitted it to every subsequent generation.
  
  30-year-old Charly, Sophie’s great-grandchild, is at the heart of the story. In the year 2030, she is living a privileged, self-determined life when she succumbs to prenatal depression and is forced to undergo therapy to evaluate her family history and cure the depression. On the path to self-discovery, Charly finds herself confronted by the existential question of how to go on living.
