    • Synopsis
    • When Lucas (67) discovered he had cancer, he decided not to undergo chemotherapy,
ignoring the illness and going on with his normal life. He has been living a normal life
without many symptoms, but when these start appearing and becoming more serious, he
realizes he is on the last stages of the disease, facing a future of possibly years of physical
degradation and pain. As Lucas has no family or friends, he decides to end his misery by
taking a bottle of sleeping pills.
The next day, Lucas wakes up chained inside a small room in a strange house. He later
finds out that Elías, his jailor, had been following him for weeks, waiting for him to kill
himself, so he could bring him back, kidnap him, and ask him to do something for him
before killing himself for good: Elías wants Lucas to pull the plug on the machine that
keeps his son Ulysses (1) alive artificially, as the child suffers from Patau syndrome since
birth. Elías wishes with all his heart to end his child´s suffering, but he cannot do it
himself, and he is convinced that Lucas is the only one capable of pulling the plug. Lucas
refuses to do it, but Elías pressures him by threatening to kill a whole family. Elías doesn´t
know these people, but if he doesn´t pull the plug on the baby, Elías will kill them.
Lucas finally agrees to turn off the baby´s life support, in order to avoid the massacre
and, as a reward for this, Elías reveals a secret that will make him re-evaluate his decision
      to take his own life.
